Following a roaring reaction to its newly launched the Carens MPV South Korean auto giant Kia is ready to join the CNG segment.

The company could join the market by launching Carens CNG. Although nothing has been confirmed, however, a test mule from Carens was recently observed using the CNG kit.

The spy photo shows the white CNG Cylinder that has been installed inside the vehicle's boot. Also, we can observe an inlet nozzle close to the fuel lid, which is located on the rear of the fenders.

Another aspect of the design of the Carens CNG that is rumored is Carens CNG looks similar to the standard version of the MPV.

The sticker on the quarter-glass on the vehicle confirms it to be built Carens' 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine that comes by the standard Carens.

In the default setting your engine will give an output of 138 BHP of peak power, and 242 Nm at its maximum torque. If you install the CNG kit, performance might decrease.

Although the engine comes with a seven-speed DCT automatic gearbox for Carens however, in the CNG version, it could only come with the manual gear shifter that has 6 speeds.

The regular Carens model is available with the option of 1.5-liter diesel, and 1.5 liters of a naturally aspirated petrol unit.

Regarding price, it is possible that the CNG version that is available in the Carens MPV may be priced at approximately Rs 75,000-Rs 1 lakh more than the cost of the standard version of the vehicle.
