After years of development, Tork Motors’ ambitious electric motorcycle, Tork Kratos R Electric Bike, has finally been launched. Two versions of the battery-powered bike have been introduced by Pune-based EV manufacturer Tork Motors – a standard and an even more powerful R trim.
Tork Motors has launched the new Kratos electric motorbike in the Indian market to compete with similar Revolt RV400. The brand new Tork Kratos is offered in two variations, namely Standard and R, which will become available all over India in phased manner. The electric motorbike will be available at Pune, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Ahmedabad, and Delhi.

Tork Kratos R Electric Bike
Kratos claims to be India’s first indigenously developed electric motorbike.
This means that every component of the bike, excluding those battery cells such as the electric motor, the battery pack and casing as well as the running gear, electronic and more. They were developed, conceptualized and built in India.
The Tork Kratos is a roadster with a naked design complemented by a triangular-shaped headlight split-type seating and two-piece pillion rails. Kratos R has three riding modes: Eco, City, and Sport.

From its appearance to its design Kratos’s design isn’t away from the T6X design, but there are significant differences that make it difficult to differentiate them.
It has the V shape headlamp cluster; however, the LEDs in Kratos make the electric motorcycle transformers like appearence. The curves and edges on each body panel give this bike an elegant look.
Its Tork Kratos’ design exactly like what you would expect from an ICE motorcycle. It has an LED headlight surrounded by LED DRLs and a massive tank that acts as the storage box and large tank shrouds, which extend all up to the bottom.

A raised section of the tail, along with split-style seats as well as split grab rails, give it the needed sportiness to its storage. While the muscular tank emphasizes its aggressive look and the bulkiness of the massive electric motor underneath takes some sheen off the otherwise beautiful-looking Kratos.

The R model is, however, has a significantly more powerful power output of 9kW, or 12.06bhp and a peak torque 38Nm. The R version has a top speed of 105kmph and an acceleration time of 0-40kmph of 3.5 seconds.
Battery and charging:
This massive battery pack is positioned in the belly of the motorbike and held in place by Kratos steel trellis frame.This 4kWH IP67 certified lithium-ion battery pack for the R variant is claimed to have the IDC (Indian Driving Cycle) range of 180km.
Tork Motors claims to have a real range of 120km for both bikes. The R model is also equipped with rapid charging, and Tork Motors claims 0-80 percent recharging within an hour.
Brakes And Suspension:
This massive battery pack is positioned in the belly of the motorbike and held in place by Kratos steel trellis frame. The Kratos Sports bike comes with Combi Brake System that Assists from a safety perspective.
The suspension is telescopic and monoshock. The Kratos have disc brakes at both ends.
A Pune-based EC manufacturer also offers the warranty of a time of 3 years, or 40,000km in both versions.

Ride & Handling Experience:
Tork will provide a thrilling riding experience. Its slightly stiff suspension offers sure-footedness while on the go. As a result, you can feel some firmness as you drive over an manhole or sharp bumper.

The Kratos R is priced at Rs. 2,07,499(Ex-showroom Price, Pune). FAME-II subsidy cuts a substantial amount of Rs 60,000 off these prices making the price of the showroom to 1,47,499.
In states where state subsidy for EVs is offered, there are advantages of buying bikes. For example, in Pune where state subsidies can allow for the reduction of prices from showrooms to Rs. 1,22,999.

It’s a good thing that the Tork Kratos has a lot of potential to draw many commuters to electric motorcycles, especially thanks to its charming mannerisms and its sporty appearance.
