2023 Nissan Ariya Electric SUV Car Review, Price, Specs

Nissan Ariya Electric Car

The all-new Nissan Ariya Electric Car features an all-new EV platform, which has been optimized to offer exceptional handling and stability. Car’s low center-of-gravity and close-to-equal weight distribution is ensured by its flat-floor and integrated cross-member.

Suspension components also take advantage of the EV’s structural rigidity and optimize them to deliver a quiet, smooth, and stable ride.

The Nissan LEAF was one of the first electric vehicles produced and has sold over 550,000 units worldwide. Nissan is currently ramping up production of its next-generation electric car, the Ariya.

Its specifications include a liquid-cooled 87-kWh Lithium-Ion battery, CCS quick-charging port, and ProPILOT Assist 2.03. The Ariya’s price is yet to be announced, but expect it to be a few thousand dollars higher than the LEAF.

Nissan also announced that it will debut the Ariya at the 2022 New York International Auto Show.

Nissan’s Second Fully Electric Car

The Nissan Leaf and Ariya are the first fully electric cars from the Japanese automaker to hit the U.S. market. But the company won’t rest on its laurels in the first half of this decade, as it also needs battery electric vehicles in other segments.

While the company has staked out the SUV segment with the Leaf, it’s still possible that an electric sedan will be on the way before too long.

As part of its goal to be carbon-neutral by 2050, the company has made significant investments in electrification. The company is on track for launching at least 23 electrified vehicles in the United States by 2030, 15 of these models will be fully electric.

The company expects to sell 40 percent of its U.S. lineup in the future based on electric technology. In addition, the company plans to introduce cheaper cobalt-free batteries and power-dense solid-state batteries by 2028.

Nissan Ariya Design

The interior of the Ariya is futuristic and minimalist. Nissan has removed every button to create a smooth dashboard, which favors keeping similarity with the exterior’s sleek design.

Although Nissan claims that Ariya’s interior is different from a traditional automobile interior, it has a unique feature yet minimalistic theme. The cabin has a flat and low floor that creates an airy feeling.

Nissan also included its zero-gravity seating into the design. Although the rear seats are smaller than those in front, a couple of adults will still find them comfortable and spacious enough for long-distance travel.

The Nissan Ariya is a two-row, five-passenger electric crossover SUV. It features a sleek design, and an aggressive boomerang-like LED running light in the front.

The rear spoiler and shark-like antennae on the roof hint at its crossover heritage. There are six different floating roof patterns, and both front and rear passenger seats feature charge ports. The interior is simple and clean, with minimal buttons and gauges.

Power & Performance

The Nissan Ariya is an all-new electric car from the Japanese automaker. It comes with an advanced semi-autonomous driving system called Nissan ProPilot 2.0.

This system is based on the system available in the Nissan Skyline sedan, which was first introduced in Japan.

The battery pack of the Nissan Ariya is the main component of the vehicle, and it powers both front and rear wheels; and it uses Nissan e-4orce all-wheel-drive technology.

The Ariya is available with either front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive. There are two battery sizes, including an 87kWh Performance model that packs a maximum of 389 bhp.

Despite its compact size, the Nissan Ariya e-4ORCE 87kWh Performance model can go from 0-60mph in just 5.0 seconds.

Nissan Ariya Range

The range of the Nissan Ariya will vary depending on the trim level. The base model has the longest range, up to 300 miles, while the Venture+, Evolve+, and Premiere have a more modest range of up to 250 miles.

The Ariya Platinum+ e-Force model has a range of up to 265 miles and can charge in under 12 hours. However, the EPA has not provided any range estimates for Ariya’s other trim levels.

Official EPA ratings are slated to be revealed closer to the on-sale date. However, the base model Venture Plus will offer more range than the single-motor Ford Mustang Mach-E and the upcoming Hyundai Ioniq 5.

Standard Fatures

The latest Nissan Ariya has a number of first-time innovations. It is the first model to feature a firmware over-the-air update system called ‘Remote Software Upgrade.’

This software upgrade system allows you to update the various software systems within the car, including its multimedia system, electric architecture, chassis, climate control, and EV settings. In addition, it is possible to receive updates while the car is in motion.

The updates are downloaded to a separate memory bank, and the vehicle is automatically switched to the updated one. This allows for seamless updates.

Nissan Ariya Price

The Ariya is available in three trims, including base model that is Venture Plus. The mid-range Ariya Evolve Plus model costs $45,950. The range-topping Platinum+ trim costs $58,950.

Both models are eligible for the federal EV credit and applicable state plug in rebates. The Nissan Ariya will start shipping in fall 2022, with front-wheel-drive models being delivered first. The Ariya all-wheel-drive version will begin shipping in late fall 2023.

Resarvation Fee

The reservation fee for Nissan’s electric car, the Ariya, will be $500. The car is expected to begin deliveries in early fall 2022. AWD models will be available later.

The company will take reservations for the 2023 Ariya by opening an exclusive online reservation portal. Premiere trim is reserved for reservation program participants.
