The company has 4.5 million electric vehicles throughout India and has been in operation for 14 years. Due to the increased demands, Hero Electric has introduced the brand new electric scooter in 2022 named Hero Eddy Electric Scooter.

Hero Electric is India’s top manufacturer of electric two-wheelers has launched a brand new electric two-wheeler called the Hero Eddy. Based on the information provided by Hero Electric, the upcoming Hero Eddy will be priced at 72,000 rupees (Ex-showroom).

It is expected to be available in two colors, Light Blue and Yellow. According to the company, Hero Eddy electric two-wheeler will need no authorization or license.

Hero Eddy is a low-speed electric scooter with the speed limit of 25 km/h. According to the company, it’s Hero Eddy has been designed to make a local and short distance commute.

In terms of style, the scooters appear snarky with sleek and sharp body panels, an open handlebar, and a high backrest for the pillion. Eddy electronic scooter is perfect for these commutes, which include cafes, gyms and golf courses.

In announcing the forthcoming electric two-wheeler, Naveen Munjal, MD of Hero Electric, stated, “We at Hero are thrilled to announce our upcoming product Hero Eddy that will have an overwhelming on-road presence combining smart features and stylish looks. The scooter is designed keeping in mind individuals’ conscious efforts to contribute towards a carbon-free future combined with a hassle-free ride experience. Hero Electric Partners With Mahindra Group

Hero Electric has 35 percent of the market and is currently home to a massive 600+ dealer network in 325 cities.

In addition, the company has formed a partnership with BattWheelz Mobility, a Gurugram-based startup that plans to provide four electric two-wheelers by the end of 2022-23.

Hero Electric also recently joined with ReadyAssist to help train and educate the 20,000 mechanics needed to repair and service electric vehicles across the nation.

Hero Electric also entered into an agreement with the State Bank of India to provide installment options to electric scooter customers. These EMI options start at Rs 251 per 10,000 for 4 years. They are available under the SBI Simple Ride Loan.

The Optima scooter came with a partnership agreement with Mahindra Group and their first electric two-wheeler joint venture. The 5-year partnership, worth approximately 150 crores, is expected to create the equivalent of 1 million electric cars annually at the end of this year.

The two companies will create a supply chain and a shared platform. Mahindra Group will manufacture the Optima and NYX electric scooters at its Pithampura manufacturing facility. Both companies will explore electrification for Mahindra’s Motorcycle Portfolio.
