The Hyundai Tucson 2022 is the next generation of this popular midsize SUV. The Hyundai Tucson 2022 is all new and elevates the SUV’s design, technology, and connectivity. First time Tucson offers a choice of gas, a hybrid, or plug-in hybrid powertrain.

It is designed with a big liner grill, sharp headlights, and a taller stance. Inside, the Tucson features a 4.2″ TFT LCD Super Vision Cluster and a floating 7-inch infotainment display.

Powertrain

The standard Hyundai Tucson will have a 2.5-liter gasoline motor and an 8-speed auto transmission in 2022. The 4-cylinder engine has both direct and port fuel injectors and produces 187 horsepower as well as 178 lb-ft torque.

According to the EPA, the plug-in hybrid model comes with a 13.8-kWh lithium-ion battery pack. It is capable of driving up to 33 miles on electric-only.

The battery can be charged using the 7.2-kW charger onboard, and this charger is connected to a level-2 charging station.

Fuel Economy

The EPA rates FWD models at 26 mpg in cities/33 mpg on the highway/29 mpg together. 2022 Tucson AWD model range is estimated at 24 MPG city/29 MPG on the highway/26 combined. Maximum tow capacity for the 2.5 is 2,000 pounds.

The new Hyundai Tucson is an excellent all-around SUV. Its sporty N Line trim has an integrated center display and symmetrical vents. The 4.2-inch TFT LCD Super Vision Cluster is easy to read and is available in two-tone and bi-tone finishes.

The system also displays a camera feed of the blind spot on the right and left gauges. It also eliminates the need for a separate charging cord.

It also allows drivers to access their favourite mobile apps and use the touchscreen to connect their smartphone to the system wirelessly.

In addition, the Hyundai Tucson will feature an eight-inch multimedia system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other highlights include 17-inch alloy wheels, a blind-spot view monitor, and Hyundai’s acclaimed Blue Link Connected Car system.

The interior colors are either gray or black. There’s a selection of leather or cloth, with soft surfaces on high-touch areas. If you’re looking to enhance the interior and experience some personalization, a 64-color ambient lighting option is available. 

Whatever your driving requirements are focused around hauling people or cargo 2nd-row seats come with the convenient “fold and dive” design which makes it easy to change the layout of the interior.

The Tucson currently has the capacity that is 38.7 cubic feet. This is an increase of nearly seven cubic feet over 2021’s model.

Exterior

The most recent Tucson model, developed at South Korea, employs angular lines and a muscular stance. short overhangs and a longer wheelbase. The combination completely differs from Hyundai’s style and gives it an athletic, well-groomed stance.

The front of the Tucson is highlighted by a textured grille with intricate, faceted, and jeweled elements and LED headlights that match.

At its rear, on the Tucson, it is possible to see narrow taillights with a curved angle that echo the concept of design.

Like the Sonata along with the Elantra, Hyundai is once again betting on mainstream consumers looking for some style in the form of an affordable, family-friendly SUV.

While there are two wheelbases, a long and short variant of the Tucson that is sold worldwide, North America is getting the model with a longer wheelbase.

Compared to the previous Tucson model, the 2022 version is 5.8 inches taller and runs on the 3.4-inch-longer wheelbase.

Price

The Hyundai Tucson is a stylish SUV with lots of features, including several trim levels and specs. The cost for the 2022 model of Hyundai Tucson starts at $25,500 for a front-wheel drive SE model (plus an additional Destination Charge).

The SEL ($26.800), N Line (30,600), XRT (31,550), and Tucson Limited ($35,000) are all higher in terms of equipment. All-wheel drive is offered for all these models with an additional $1,500 charges.

Safety Features

In the new Tucson 2022, Hyundai offers innovative driver assistance features, including adaptive cruise control and lane-centring. Other advanced features include blind-spot and rear-cross traffic warning systems and a safety exit assist system.

Combined with advanced safety features, SmartSense offers a safe and easy-to-use experience with features that can prevent accidents.

The system uses cameras to provide a better view of the car’s surroundings so the driver can be more confident when manoeuvring.

Smart Cruise Control uses a radar sensor mounted in the lower front grille to maintain a predetermined distance from the vehicle in front.

It also monitors a range of driver-related characteristics, including driver fatigue, and can adjust speed accordingly. It also can detect vehicles in the blind spot and alert the driver if a car is approaching.

The SmartSense safety suite is the most impressive feature of the new Tucson.

Its suite of driver assistance features includes highway driving assist, forward collision avoidance assists with pedestrian detection, lane-keeping and lane-following assist, and blind-spot view monitors.

Other safety features include Automatic Collision Notification, which alerts law enforcement and SOS Emergency Assistance, which allows you to call emergency services with a button.

Hyundai is one of the few carmakers to offer such advanced driver assistance features as standard on all models.

SEL Convenience Package

If you’re considering the Hyundai Tucson for your family, the SEL Convenience Package offers additional convenience features. It includes heated front seats and blind-spot collision-avoidance assist.

You can opt for an all-wheel-drive system, too. You can also get an XRT trim based on the SEL but with a more rugged look. The SEL Convenience Package adds a few luxury items to Tucson, such as heated front seats and LED taillights.

The SEL Convenience Package adds heated front seats, a 10.3-inch digital gauge display, and adaptive cruise control. There are even wireless phone chargers and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
